This game is currently on Kickstarter, and due in April of 2017, but due to a special deal with Steamforged Games, is available to pre-order through your local game store! To triumph, players must explore dangerous locations, discover and defeat enemies, and collect equipment and treasures before ultimately facing the boss in an epic fight to the death.
Playable in either Solo or Co-op modes, players choose their role from a number of core Dark Souls™ character classes. Each class has a distinct role to play in the game, with a unique set of strengths and abilities.
With multiple difficulty modes and a high-level of replayability, this is a game designed to be deep enough to satisfy hard-core tabletop gamers whilst remaining accessible to newer players.
Dark Souls™ – The Board Game features an exciting “fast setup, long reveal” mechanic that gets you into the game faster and builds the location and encounters as you explore.
With no fixed scenario layouts, it’s as simple as choosing the direction to explore, placing a new tile down and flipping a card from the Encounter deck.

Do I get all the stretch goals if I order through Just Games? The first 6 people to order will get the core game, all stretch goals, 1 month early release, and save $5 off the price, PLUS the opportunity to order the retail-exclusive expansion. The next 18 people to back the game through us will get the core game PLUS the opportunity to order the retail-exclusive expansion and get all of those things 1 month early.
Is this already funded? Yes! The Kickstarter has generated over $1,000,000 (yes, a million) dollars US in it’s first few days, and is expected to nearly double before the end of it’s run. Why? Precisely because of Steamforged’s awesome support of local gaming! This is a company people are excited to support, with a game that people are excited to play!
Isn’t this an unusual way for Steamforged to promote a Kickstarter? Yes. While we can’t speak for Steamforged, we think it’s awesome that they’re supporting local game stores, and we want to back them 100%.
I’ve heard I get the game 1 month early if I back it through Just Games, is that true? Yes, local shops get this game 4 weeks before anyone else, including Kickstarter backers.
When does Just Games have to pay for this? As soon as the Kickstarter ends, we will pay for our copies. That is why we are taking your pre-orders now, exactly as though you participated in the Kickstarter.
Will you update us as Steamforged issues updates or clarifications? Yes, absolutely! Check back on this page for details. We’ll repost critical Kickstarter updates here.
Can I buy it from you after the Kickstarter ends? Maybe. We will have some copies to sell after that, but we can’t guarantee it, since there will be no way to up our allocation after the end of the Kickstarter, and Steamforged is limiting retailers to 24 copies.
Why is there tax on this? Sales tax in NYS is 8%, so after tax, you are paying about what the MSRP would be if you bought direct from Steamforged.
Will you ship this game to my house? No, this “support local” option is for local pickup only. Steamforged will ship us your copy of the game 1 month early, we will host a release party, and you can pick up your game then.
What if the Kickstarter isn’t delivered? If the worst should happen, and Steamforged never delivers the game, we will stand by the pre-order price and give you a full refund OR another game of equal value (your choice).
