Wanted to learn about the exciting world of Indie and ‘Zine RPGs, but have a busy schedule, perhaps packed with reading but not playing small-press role-playing games? Join us for Indie RPG Speed Dating on Saturday, August 9 from 1 to 5 pm at Just Games!
Bring an indie RPG with a plan to run a 1 hour total session. Who runs will be randomly determined, and everyone will get a free RPG supplement for participating, so no worries if yours isn’t chosen. Everyone who wants to Game Master should bring:
- An RPG encounter / session / scene for their favorite Indie RPG
- Pre-printed copies of character sheets for up to 5 players in that game
- A plan to ‘start at the fun part’ of the game – learn the rules as you go! There isn’t time for complex explanations of all the mechanics at an event like this
- A set of dice, paper pencils, etc
- An awareness of our Code of Conduct, so everyone is comfortable with your prepared content
ALTERNATIVELY…
- Buy a player ticket, show up to play, and you just get to try out 3-4 RPGs!
- Our team will seat you with a Game Master
Which participant runs the game will be determined by a roll of a d6 or d4 (depending on number of participants) and the GM (and game!) will swap promptly at the 1 hour mark. Our staff will hand out one item every hour you stay from this year (or a past years) Free RPG Day kit, so if you play all 4 hours, you’ll get four additional samples of indie rpgs. Oh, and all Indie RPGs will be 10% off all day.
