Looking for a way to get into a 60-card constructed Magic format? Try out some fast, fun, and casual matches at the store on Thursdays. Battle your Bloomburrow deck against your opponent’s Final Fantasy deck, or convert a draft deck that you really loved into a playable constructed deck!
Did you play in the Strixhaven Prerelease? Then your first week of trying One Set Standard is free – just show us your receipt at signup. Come to the first 3 weeks, and get an extra Play booster of your choice during prizes.
How to build a One Set Standard deck
- Pick your favorite Standard-legal set. Not sure what’s in Standard? Check here at whatsinstandard.com.
- Build a 60 card deck using only cards from that set. Maybe you have a preferred faction to build around like the Abzan from Tarkir: Dragonstorm, or a favorite draft archetype like the Vivid archetype in Lorwyn Eclipsed.
- Make sure to have a 15 card sideboard too, once again featuring only cards from the set of your choice.
With that, you’re ready to go! If you’ve played at a prerelease, you’re about halfway there to having a One Set Standard deck.
Note that since this event is a Standard event, it adheres to the Standard banlist, which can be found here.
This event will be three best-of-three 50 minute rounds, with prizes being 3 standard legal play boosters for going 3-0, 2 standard legal play boosters for going 2-1, and any other record getting 1 standard legal play booster. As always, you can swap out one of your prize packs with a nonfoil promo pack while supplies last.

Registration starts at 6pm, and round one fires at 6:30. Cost is $8 per player.
