Aether Revolt and Kaladesh brought us some pretty cool Masterpieces for Magic: the Gathering in the form of full art foils in packs. So for Aether Revolt Drafts, we’re adding a League where you can win them just for attending drafts! Here’s how it works.
The League will run for 8 weeks, from Wednesday Jan 25, to Wednesday March 15. It will include both our Wednesday and Friday drafts. You may earn League points for playing in both. All drafts will be our regular $15 / 1 pack per match win 2017 format. For each draft you play in, you will earn 1 League Point. There are other ways to earn League points as follows:
ATTENDING A DRAFT = 1 League Point
BRING A NEW PLAYER* = 1 League Point
PLAY IN YOUR FIRST EVENT AT A STORE = 1 League Point
* This could be a player who is new to the DCI or who has never played in an event at our store. Either one is cool with us.
At the end of 8 weeks, we will award the player with the highest number of League points an expedition or masterwork (we will announce the masterwork subject to the schedule below). Ties will be broken by number of wins earned among the players with the most points.
BONUS SECTION [READ ONLY IF YOU WANT EXTRA MASTERPIECES]
We will also award a masterwork or expedition to 1 additional player at the end of the league according to the schedule below.
TOTAL DRAFT REGISTRATIONS OVER 8 WEEKS
50 registrations : We reveal the identity of the first masterpiece
100 registrations : We add a 2nd masterpiece to the prize pool
150 registrations : We reveal the identity of a 3rd masterpiece
200 registrations: Weadd a 3rd masterpiece to the prize pool
250 registrations: we reveal the identity of a 4th masterpiece
300 registrations: we add a 4th masterpiece to the prize pool
etc…
In the event that multiple masterpieces are in the prize pool, we will give them away first to the players with the most points, then the second most, and so on. Games won during the league will be used as a tie breaker.
