This season has seen a new batch of independent RPGs hit our shelves, so I wanted to take the time to highlight a few that have charm, wit, and theme just oozing out of their bindings. VISIGOTHS vs MALL GOTHS The year is 1996. You’re in the food court at the mall, hoping that Trevor […]
“…and then we fought about the rules so we put it back in the box and gave up.” If I had a string of lights for every time I heard this shared memory I’d be able to decorate the Rockefeller Christmas tree three times over. Getting your family to agree on anything can be tough, […]
A riddle as old as they come: In front of the door stand two guards. One can only tell the truth, and the other can only lie. Wait a minute, YOU’RE one of the guards! And hang on, that’s not a door, that’s a card game! Welcome to Unrest, a new two player asymmetrical card […]

For how to build a commander deck, go here. Ah, Commander. The objectively goofiest format in all of Magic. A lawless land where […]
It’s a tale as old as trading card games themselves: a Magic player rolls up to game night with their carefully crafted crab/snake/Rebecca Guay themed deck and faces an insurmountable wall of combos and tremendously powerful cards. The goofiest cards of Magic unfortunately fall flat in the face of Thassa’s Oracles and Dockside Extortionists. By […]
There is nothing on this earth more horrifying and nerve-wracking than reaching the front of the line at a sub shop. You’re about to be bombarded with 16 questions about exactly what you want on your sandwich, and to be fair, you know exactly what you want on your sandwich. But if you say anything […]
